Bio

Rebecca Cohen

“Rebecca Cohen, like her songs, is playful, passionate and clever, and should not be missed!" - Scott Katz

“A delightful songwriter – songs of humor, heart and a warm love of life.” - Heidi Muller

Seattle singer-songwriter Rebecca Cohen is the whole package. Originally from the Boston area, she has been singing since childhood and writing songs since 1990. Since 1993 she has performed at the Northwest Folklife Festival, the original Honey Bear Bakery, and numerous coffeehouses and house concerts in western Washington. Sometimes inspiring, sometimes humorous: these are perpetually intriguing songs of longing, satisfaction and frank befuddlement.

Rebecca’s richly versatile alto is a luxurious vehicle for rousing singalongs, tender ballads and forays into the absurd. Each song is a finely-crafted excursion into lands rich in visual imagery. Rebecca has performed with Linda Waterfall, Heidi Muller, Nancy K. Dillon, Matt Price, Joel Tepp, Scott Katz and a host of other brilliant people you may not have heard of.

A seasoned and personable performer, Rebecca is a colorful, clever, engaging entertainer whose passion for life is infectious: she'll have you singing along in no time.

Rebecca is currently putting the finishing touches on her
much-anticipated debut CD, “You Hung the Moon.”
